DNEG and ReDefine Win National Award for VFX for Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva

We are thrilled to announce that our DNEG and ReDefine teams have been honored with multiple prestigious National Awards at the 70th Indian National Film Awards ceremony in New Delhi, India held on 8th October 2024.

Our groundbreaking work on Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva was honored with two prestigious awards, presented by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu: the National Film Award for Best Film in AVGC and the National Film Award for Best VFX Supervisor, which recognised Jaykar Arudra, Viral Thakkar, and Neelesh Gore for their exceptional leadership and creativity in overseeing the film’s visual effects.

The National Film Awards honor excellence in the Indian film industry, celebrating artistic and technical achievements that push the boundaries of filmmaking.

 

Jaykar Arudra, Viral Thakkar, and Neelesh Gore alongside VFX Supervisors Alexander Seaman and George Murphy, elevated the film’s visual effects to new heights, setting a new standard in Indian cinema. From creating the powerful astras to portraying the mystical world of Shiva, the film’s VFX has set a new benchmark for the industry. These awards are particularly special as they represent DNEG and ReDefine’s first-ever Indian National Awards—a landmark achievement in our journey of crafting world-class visual effects. We are incredibly proud of our talented teams, whose creativity, dedication, and hard work continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in filmmaking.
