Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria and the country’s largest city. Founded in 7000 B.C., it lays claim to the title of the third oldest capital in Europe. Sofia was also designated as the ‘City of Film’ by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2014, celebrating its dedication to the film industry and recognising the city’s international popularity as a production and filming hub.
