ReDefine has launched a new Pre-Production Services offering and brought onboard industry veteran PC Vikram to head up the new department.
Under the new offering we are providing a full range of Pre-Production services including concept art, storyboarding, previsualization and virtual production, leveraging DNEG’s established experience in these fields.
Vikram, who joins ReDefine as Head of Pre-Production and is based in our Mumbai studio, is an art director, story-writer and animation supervisor with over 25 years of experience in animation, commercials, games and visual development for films. Prior to joining ReDefine, Vikram has worked for companies such as Disney, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, Technicolor, Zynga and Square Enix, where he contributed to a number of big gaming franchises.
He is also active in the education technology industry as a UX Director and shares his knowledge at prestigious design institutes as a visiting lecturer.
“I am delighted to be joining ReDefine at this pivotal time in its development,” said Vikram. “ReDefine is working on some of the biggest projects in the markets that it serves, and I can’t wait to start exploring the potential of developing concepts in this brave new era of virtual production.”
We are currently in production on ‘Brahmastra’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Kung Fury 2’ starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Fassbender, ‘Sweet Girl’ starring Jason Momoa, ‘83’ starring Ranveer Singh and the latest season of ‘The 100’, amongst many others.
“The animation for Rock Dog 2 was produced during the global COVID pandemic. Despite the technical challenges and complexities of the entire crew working remotely from home, the regular communication and collaboration between Splash Entertainment and Redefine’s experienced teams has resulted in a movie that we are all extremely proud of.”
“ReDefine really delivered for me and HBO on this project; starting fully remote before the pandemic started, then continuing to make deadlines we needed up through delivery. I appreciated Serkan’s patience with changes that came up, and would definitely work with ReDefine again on a similar project!”
“The visual effects for Brahmastra will pioneer new techniques and processes that have not previously been seen in movies for the mainstream Indian film market. Having worked with DNEG, and now ReDefine, I know that together we are creating amazing visuals that reflect a quality and calibre that audiences have come to expect from big budget Hollywood films.”
“COLLABORATIVE” is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about ReDefine. I’ve had the pleasure of working with ReDefine for a little over a year now, and throughout the production process, the work has been excellent and we have always been able to collaborate – finding creative solutions for all our production challenges. I am very excited to continue our working relationship and look forward to completing Rock Dog 2 with the ReDefine team in 2020.”
