‘The 100’ is an American post-apocalyptic sci-fi series set after a nuclear conflict which has decimated civilisation. A century later, a spaceship accommodating humanity’s lone survivors dispatch 100 juvenile delinquents back to the Earth to determine its habitability.
ReDefine has contributed to the VFX work for season 7, the final season of the show which will bring it to a total of 100 episodes across all seven seasons.
ReDefine’s contribution to the final season involved a range of visual effects work, including complex FX work and a range of CG environment extensions.
“We were excited to deliver VFX work for a number of episodes in the final season of ‘The 100’, including the series finale which brought this wildly popular science fiction series to a close,” said Serkan Zelzele, VFX Supervisor, ReDefine Montreal. “The challenges were unique to each episode – from complicated FX work to futuristic matte paintings, from celestial comps to full-CG environments. One of the most notable challenges was creating the ascended light people, which involved some intense Houdini FX work combined with some cool comp enhancement.”
