We are delighted to welcome Daniel (Dan) Krech as our new Senior Vice President, Production in Toronto.
Dan has worked in the industry for decades, built many studios from the ground up, and has been part of a number of milestone moments in the animation industry. He founded Dan Krech Productions (DKP) in Canada and the United States, which went on to be one of the largest animation companies in Canada and won 12 Bessie awards for excellence. His impressive portfolio of work includes family classics such as ‘Elliot the Littlest Reindeer’, ‘Ice Princess Lily’, ‘A.C.O.R.N.S: Operation Crackdown’, ‘VeggieTales: It’s a Meaningful Life’, and ‘Everyone’s Hero’, to name a few.
Dan has spent the past three years working as producer and executive producer on a number of ReDefine’s animated projects. We have had the pleasure of seeing his thoughtful and collaborative approach first-hand.
In his new role, Dan will work closely alongside the senior leadership team to oversee our pipeline of shows at ReDefine Originals to ensure they’re executed optimally from end-to-end. He’ll also encourage discussions about our production processes and ways we can implement new systems that improve on the old.
On joining ReDefine, Dan said: “The most important aspect of any studio is the creativity of the artists and production. ReDefine Originals has a very unique studio culture – a “people first” approach and care for its artists and professionals. I’m excited to support these teams while recreating a workflow pipeline that integrates with real-time software processes, which is a very innovative approach to animation. We are not afraid to develop new systems and to try new methods. Everyone in the studio has the ability and is encouraged to forward ideas that help make this a better working environment.”
Welcome to the team Dan!
